My wife and I have been looking at sailboats for over 10 years. During that time, I have sailed close to 15,000 miles on a great variety of boats, and have looked at so many boats, old and new all around the country. We are regulars to the Kemah area and often walk the docks around your brokerage. We have even had a boat under contract with you all some years back, but we ultimately decided that one was not the right fit. We have run into Josh Johnson so many times during our visits and strolls, and he has always been super kind and informative. A few weeks back, we headed to Kemah for a little relaxation around the marinas, and ran into Josh as we so often do. He asked if we had seen “the Morgan Classic”, I said no, he said we should, and I said really. Okay. We met up later and as he walked us to the boat, he told us about her in great detail. By the time we stood amidships on the pier, I looked at Josh and said, “I think I am going to buy this one!” Later, at the haulout, I asked Josh why he showed this one to us. He said that I was always looking for the impossibly clean and updated old boat, and this was just such a boat. He was right, and we were fortunate to run into Josh that day. That of all the people he shows boats to and meets and talks to, that he remembered what we were looking for, put it all together and provided us with our dream boat is just fantastic and impressive. We could not be more pleased with our purchase and our new adventure.

Dear Kent,

I just want to thank you and your team for handling the recent sale of my Catalina 310.  I met Josh Johnson on my pier some ten years ago and had occasionally asked him for suggestions and references over the years, so when it came time to sell I turned to him.  I hadn’t intended to get out of sailing, but my wife’s health forced the issue.  We hadn’t been to the boat in nearly two years, so there were a number of unresolved maintenance issues.  Josh went above and beyond in helping, and arranging, to get things done.  He was fantastic throughout the process.  I know he worked much harder, and in some instances more creatively, on this sale than he should have.  I truly appreciate your brokerage and the people, especially Josh, that work there.  If I come across anyone looking to buy or sell a boat, I will enthusiastically recommend you to them.

Sailing has been a true joy to both my wife and I, so it was a tough decision to sell our Catalina 310. Having ruined my knee badly, I finally admitted that a wet, rolling, pitching deck was no longer the place for me. Josh worked hard and sold the boat in 7 weeks and apologized profusely because “it took so long”. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome and we appreciate all the effort Josh put into finding a new home for our sweet boat.

We initially met Kent through an online search for sailboats in the Texas area. It was a stroke of good luck, as it turned out Kent was knowledgeable about most boats anywhere especially in Texas. We are new at sailing and with that lack of nautical background, we could have opened ourselves up to any sort of slick salesman’s tactics. Everything I asked Kent about, he responded with an honest, forthright answer. He never tried pressure sales, but we were enlightened as to what type of boat we would enjoy for our type of sailing. Kent has sold two sailboats for us and in each case I have been most happy with his professionalism and manner in which he treated both the buyer and the seller.
