Bill will be listing and selling boats for us there as well as still handling his and our clients boats for Captain Deliveries as well as sailing and power boat lessons.
Having a broker in Florida will also allow our client base who are keeping boats in Florida or returning from cruising to leave their boats in Florida but still have them listed with LYS.
Captain Bill, a former Computer Design Engineer, has over 30 years experience sailing the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico. He currently holds a USCG 100 ton Masters License for the operation of Steam and Motor Vessels, with a 100 ton Sailing endorsement. Since acquiring his Captains License over twenty years ago, Bill has been captaining sailing charters, delivering both sail and power boats and teaching sailing lessons and powerboat handling to students of all ages. He also has the US SAILING Basic Keelboat Instructor certification.
Captain Bill can be reached on his cell at 281-748-2628 or CaptBill@pdq.net
Kent Little commented: David is a well known broker in the Clear Lake Area. Our relationship goes back over 20 years and 15 of those were at Sea Lake Yachts. David has been a lifelong boater and selling yachts since 1983. David’s experience in power and sail is vast and he has cruised offshore extensively on both power and sail boats. I am extremely excited to have David on board the LYS team!
From David Jackson:
I began boating and sailing in the early 70’s and have enjoyed it ever since. After graduating from Oklahoma State University, I moved to the Houston area and bought my second sailboat the first weekend I was here. After racing and cruising around Texas for six years, I started a new career in the marine industry. I have been selling both new and used yachts, power and sail, since 1983. I am a member of the Gulf Coast Yacht Brokers Association and have served as Vice President and on the board for three years; a member of Yacht Brokers Association of America, abiding by their standards; currently on the board of directors of the CPYB (Certified Professional Yacht Brokers) and I am also a Florida licensed Yacht Broker. I have extensive knowledge of blue water cruising having sailed tens of thousands of miles in the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic. I have raced and cruised and I would like to put my experience to work for you to help you find the boat of your dreams. Whether that boat lies here in the Clear lake area or anywhere else I can help.

Capt John Brown
I’ve spent most my life in Northern Michigan in the Traverse City area on the coast of Lake Michigan. Taught myself how to sail when I was 12 years old and have been sailing ever since. Sailing dinghies, Wind Surfers (the very first ones), Hobie Cats and I’ve owned a Hunter 23, a Newport 27, Island Packet 31 and now a Hardin Voyager 44 ketch which I lived aboard for 7 years. I’ve sailed all over northern Lake Michigan. Kept my boat in the North Channel of Lake Huron for three years (this is one of the 10 most beautiful areas to cruise!) I’ve been on a number of deliveries of friends’ boats in the Great Lakes, up and down the East Coast, Chesapeake Bay, Gulf of Mexico and currently throughout the Caribbean Islands.
As a professional Captain, I’ve gotten to work on a 191 ton Tow Boat pushing tanker barges through the Galveston Bay, ICW up to New Orleans up the Mississippi to Baton Rouge and the Atchafalaya River. I also spent two years working for Coastal Crewboats on a 42’ crew boat running workers and supplies to the wells and production platforms in the Galveston Bay. Recently I’ve worked with “Alternate Latitude” a Voyage 440 catamaran doing a couple offshore charter trips in the last few years.
I have the professional and personal experience to assist you in selling and buying your new yacht. Whether it is a 25’ sailboat or a 100’+ Mega yacht, here in Galveston Bay or located in a foreign country . I bring the necessary skills and background to get the job done.
I’m backed by the fastest growing, most experienced yacht brokerage house in the Gulf Coast Area, “Little Yacht Sales” and now our power side “Texas Power Yachts”.

From there he joined with friends from the Houston Yacht Club to improve his sailing skills and has participated in the Vera Cruz Race as well as the Harvest Moon Regatta. Eventually Rusty joined the Navy and sailed the seven seas on tall grey ships.
His next move was something different for sure and that was to become a Radio DJ in the Dallas Ft Worth market. From there he would meet his future bride of 27 years, Leilani. He went back to sailing by rigging sailboats and racing on Lake Texoma and while on Lake Texoma formed a rigging company called I-B- Rigging which included Yacht deliveries.
The next step would be to join Grandpappy Point Marina and start his sales career off by selling Catalina, J-Boats, and Jeanneau. The wind started to turn west for Rusty and he headed out to San Diego to join H&S Yachts also selling Catalina and Jeanneau as well as Hunter Marine. While at H&S Yachts Rusty took over the Catalina division for the company with two stores selling Catalina Yachts. Still there were seas to sail and race on while on the west coast of California, which included the Newport to Ensenada Race, the Trans Pac and the Pacific Cup as well as some leisurely sailing to exotic port of calls like Cabo San Lucas, La Paz, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Then winds shifted again to the east and Rusty join Massey Yacht Sales in Florida also selling Catalina, Hunter and Island Packet. After about a year on the west coast of Florida Rusty was promoted to Sales Manager and headed up a brand new sales team in Stuart Florida, which opened up the door to some terrific sailing to the Bahamas and all over Florida. In fact so many trips from St Petersburg to the keys and back around up to Stuart that he could probably do it blind folded. Then the winds started blowing again and one again to the west.
Kent Little of Little Yacht Sales and Rusty have known each other for many many years. Rusty says Kent was the smart one to stay put (He has his own business now), while Rusty with saltwater in his veins went sailing here and there. Well, it was finally time for Rusty and his wife to come home to Texas where he started his sailing career and the only logical place was to join the team at Little Yacht Sales.
Rusty and his wife have now set anchor in the Kemah area. Rusty has earned the Hunter Marine Sales Professional certification every year since 2003. He is also a Catalina Tech Specialist and is an Island Packet Yachts Certified Sales Representative. As you can see Rusty has many sea miles under his belt and knows how to match his clients to the boat that best suits their needs.
Rusty can be reached at Rusty@LittleYachtSales.com or directly on his cell at 941-730-7207

I started my boating life on power boats, growing up in Panama City, Florida. After graduating from the University of Florida, I started my environmental engineering career in Dallas, Texas, where I learned to sail/race on a Boston Whaler Harpoon, Butterflies, and M-Scows. I soon purchased my first sailboat (a Nacra 5.2) and started racing.
In the 1990’s I purchased my first large sloop, an Endeavor 40, from Kent and lived on it for 5 years in southeast Texas. Next was a Catalina 42 MKII, also purchased from Kent. My next boat was a new Catalina Morgan 440, purchased from (guess who – Kent). With all of these fine boats, I spent considerable time cruising the Gulf of Mexico, in addition to spending bareboat time in the Caribbean and British Columbia and learning about celestial navigation on an Atlantic crossing.
After moving back to Florida (now in St. Petersburg), I retired and began cruising a lot more in the southern Gulf of Mexico and enjoying the local waters on my center console power boat. I’ve earned a USCG Masters license and am certified to teach sailing by ASA.
Now as a boat captain and licensed yacht salesman, I am looking forward to working with you to help you sell your boat or buy the next boat that will help you enjoy your boating goals.
